Big Withholding Tax Cut for E-Commerce Sellers in the New Year

The planned draft withholding tax of 25% for sole proprietorships and 15% for LTD and A.Ş. businesses in the e-commerce sector in 2025 may halt the growth of the sector and encourage informality. This is expected to have a negative impact on inflation.

As EDER, ELİDER and ETİS, which represent a large mass in the sector, we have issued a joint declaration together with our lawyers and certified public accountants, taking the opinion of our members.

Our expectation is that this regulation should be postponed for 12 months in order not to harm the sector and the rates should be reduced to acceptable levels, not exceeding the range of 0.1% to 0.5%.
